CCSD School Choice Month and New Enrollment

CCSD School Choice Month and New Enrollment

February is School Choice Month for the Cherokee County School District!

In February, CCSD opens the opportunity for parents to request a school reassignment for the next school year, including our STEM, STEAM and Fine Arts Academies, and our online high school, i-Grad Virtual Academy.  February also typically is the kickoff for Pre-K, kindergarten and Grades 1-12 new student enrollment for the next school year, but as we’re building a new student registration system, that process will instead begin in March.

Information is on our website at [CONTENT_REVIEW InternalLink] explaining how to:

•    Apply Feb. 1-March 1 for school choice reassignment for any of the 17 schools (12 elementary schools, including five Cherokee Academies – STEM, Fine Arts and STEAM; three middle schools; two high schools) with capacity for next school year;

•    Apply Feb. 1-March 1 for i-Grad Virtual Academy online program for Grades 9-12 for next school year;

•    Register online beginning March 7 to enroll a new kindergartener or any student Grades 1-12 who will be new to CCSD for next school year;

•    Apply March 20-31 for the Georgia Pre-K lottery drawing for a spot in CCSD’s Pre-K program for next school year; and,

•    Learn more about other CCSD school choice programs, including Cherokee College & Career Academy, ACE Academy, Mountain Education Charter High School and other Pre-K and preschool programs, including Head Start and Special Education.
