Two CCSD Students Selected for Prestigious Art Exhibit
Two Cherokee County School District students have been selected to show their work in a prestigious art exhibit!
A sculpture by Etowah High School senior Amelia Ganues and a graphite pencil drawing by Sequoyah High School junior Paige Wolosiewicz will be featured in the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition.
More than 700 students from metro Atlanta high schools submitted work for consideration. Only the top 194 pieces were selected by a jury of professional artists to be included in the exhibit at Piedmont Park during the Atlanta Dogwood Festival from April 8-10.
“Congratulations to Amelia and Paige on this accomplishment recognizing their dedication to the arts,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower. “The fine arts are important to me and our School Board as another opportunity to provide students with educational choices and opportunities for engagement. We begin our arts program with our youngest learners and continue it through high school with numerous offerings across the arts, including AP courses for college credit. We’re grateful for our talented teachers and all they pour into their students.”
